Ally Perfume : Synthesis of Perfume with History

When ever we get time we use to go on wheeling. Last Tuesday it was in the Territi Bazar area. The Sunday Breakfast is a famous food joint you all know. And it is also the location of Kolkata's one of the popular Television News Channel 24Ghanta(situated in Poddar Court). At the back side of Poddar Court there is a narrow lane Sun-Yet-Sen Street. Full of dean n bustle of the lane will bother you, you will genuinely  search for a escape from this clatter. In between you could find a Odd Man Out shop named as Ally Perfumers . Our basic motto was to collect some perfume oils from there. As this place is such one where we pay visit occasionally.
Fragrances of Sandal, Summer, Ferarry, ET, Playboy filled the air with a leisurely mood.

As we entered the little shop the friendly shop owner Nmh. Md. Ismail greeted us with a smile. After knowing our choice and preferences he started the tasting . Began to apply pinch of aromatic oil from the big glass pitcher like bottle and applied on our arms. After a couple of minutes our Olfactory lobe became filled with heavenly fragrances. The freshness of Aqua, purity of Sandal , elegance of Ferrary and natural essence of Bela, Champa, Mogra, Chameli captured our senses. 

Apart from buying oils I continued to chat with the shop owner. Basically South Indian Muslim originated from Chennai Nmh. Md. Ismail's father N. Mohamed Haniff used to stay in Burma in the post Independence era. There they used to patronize Indian Independence League , the platform with a dream of freedom of their motherland. In the course of the activism of the Indian Independence League Mohamed Haniff came closer to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's ideology. Till date Mohamed Haniff's son Ismail proudly reminisces the story of his father's activity regarding Indian Independence League and Indian National Army .

He proudly welcomes us to the store room of the perfume shop. Where we found the money receipt of the donations made by his father laminated like photograph. Those were no less than some beautiful perfume. The perfume of our Motherland's Freedom.

Last but not the least the perfumes and oils sold in the shop are cheap and free from health hazards, and nature friendly also. Range of oils starts from INR 30 (little file) or INR 70 (medium file). Pinch of oil keeps you aromatic day long . Even after washing cloth you can smell faint fragrances. Go and have a visit to a beautiful little shop full of sweetness and History.

Dipankar Ghosh's Mt. Dhaulagiri expedition | A different Story

Dipankar Ghosh & Rajiv Bhattacharjee's name came to lime light when they climbed the Highest peak Mt. Everest way back in 2011.
Last year (2016) Rajiv Bhattacharjee went for the last expedition of his life in Mt. Dhaulagiri.
This year Rajiv's soul mate Dipankar went to climb Mt. Dhaulagiri. At the back of Dipankar's mind somewhere was this expedition a matter to pay homage to his dear Rajiv.
Dipankar climbed Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), the seventh highest peak of the world on 20.5.17 at 4.12 pm. The news spread immense joy to us the Bengali as Dipankar is the very first Bong to do so.
But when he was descending, at an altitude of 8000 mtr approx BIMAN BISWAS of ITBP (India) requested help from him as Biswas was then in mental Hallucination , Tired, Snow Blind and exhausted. He was unable to come down alone.
Although Dipankar was tired from 17 hours continuous climbing in such altitude. Yet some power came from within to help fellow climber adds Dipankar - "I was forced by the power of Almighty to save his life with another 22 hour's effort in such altitude.We saved our life. But some parts  (fingers) of our body got Frost bitten. Hope it will be recover with your blessings and Good wishes. I am happier to think that I could save Biman's life."
It's not the story of winning peaks or the story of saving the life of a fellow mountaineer.
If you notice the date we lost Rajiv it was on 19th of May 2016. Rajiv faced the same difficulties as Biman Biswas did on 20th May 2017. Biman got the arms of Dipankar to return him to the safe right track. That is the only satisfaction of Dipankar Ghosh. Now Ghosh is in Kathmandu under medical supervision. Soon he will be returning to Kolkata. Pray for speedy recovery of this REAL LIFE HERO

আদিখ্যেতা
নেই পদ্য লিখতে লিখতে
ঘুম এসেছে যেই,
অমনি হঠাৎ
স্বপ্নে এল
পাগল হাওয়া।
আমার ময়ুরপঙ্খী নাও
তরতরিয়ে এগোল জল বেয়ে।
আষাঢ়, শ্রাবণ সেকেন্ড
মিনিট, ঘন্টা সময় দিন
সাঁতার কেটে চলল বিরামহীন।
গোলাপি দুটো ফিনফিনে রেখাদাগ
কুঁড়ি থেকে কখন ফুটে
গোলাপ গোলাপ পাপড়়ি ঠোঁটে
ঝিলমিলিয়ে উঠল হেসে, কে জানে?
এসব কথা খুব সাধারণ, আটপৌরে বাতুলতা,
কেউ বলবে আদিখ্যেতা কেউ
বলবে পিতৃত্ব সুখ।।

Why should we on Headlamp in Day time | বাইকে দিনের বেলা হেডলাইট কেন জ্বালব

মোটরবাইকে সওয়ারি অনেকটা স্বপ্নের মত। যানজটে স্তব্ধ গোটা রাস্তা, এই গরমে ভীড়ে নাজেহাল বাসবন্দী শহরকে পিছনে ফেলে এগিয়ে যাওয়ার একচেটিয়া স্বাধীনতা একমাত্র ওই দ্বিচক্রযানের। কিন্তু এগিয়ে যাওয়ার এই স্বাধীনতা মুহূর্তে পরিণত হতে পারে প্রাণঘাতী একটা দুর্ঘটনায়। ২০১৪ সালে ৩২ হাজার ৫২৪টি দুর্ঘটনা কেড়ে নিয়েছে তাজা প্রাণ। ওই রছরই এক লক্ষ ২৭ হাজার ৫২৪ জন মানুষ আহত হয়েছেন শুধুমাত্র বাইক দুর্ঘটনায়। সংখ্যাটা নেহাত নগন্য নয়।
অটোমোবাইল পথ নিরাপত্তা বিশেষজ্ঞরা বলছেন Automatic Headlamp On বা AHO র কথা।
আমি গত বছর ইউরোপের ডেনমার্কে দেখেছি দিনের বেলা দুই ও চার চাকার যানবাহন হেডল্যাম্প জ্বালিয়ে চলেছে পথে। কারনটা আর কিছুই নয়, গাড়ি চালানোর সময় অন্য গাড়ির কাছে নিজেকে আরও দৃশ্যমান করে তোলা।
বিশেষত ভোরে বা সন্ধ্যা বেলায় হেডল্যাম্প ভীষণ সাহায্য করে ড্রাইভ করতে।
তাই ভারত সরকার, DRL বা কারের ডেটাইম রানিং ল্যাম্প এর মত AHO আনতে চলেছে আগামী প্রজন্মের বাইক গুলিতে।
ইতিমধ্যেই ARAI বা Automotive Research Association of India থেকে কেন্দ্রীয় পরিবহণ মন্ত্রী নিতিন গডকড়ী র কাছে AHO র উপর একটি বিশদ প্রেজেন্টেশন এসেছে। সরকারি একটি নোটিফিকেশন এ বলা হয়েছে এরপরের বছর থেকে ম্যানুফ্যকচার হওয়া বাইক গুলির ইগনেশন সুইচ অন করলেই জ্বলে উঠবে হেডল্যাম্প। সেক্ষেত্রে হেডল্যাম্প অফ করার কোন উপায় থাকবে না চালকের হাতে। এপ্রিল ২০১৭র পর তৈরি হওয়া প্রায় সমস্ত মোটরবাইক এ এই সুবিধাটি থাকবে। ইতিমধ্যে ভারতের সুপ্রিম কোর্টও একটি কমিটি তৈরি করে টু-হুইলারের পথ নিরাপত্তা নিয়ে সমীক্ষা চালিয়ে সেই কমিটির সুপারিশ পেয়েছে। তাতে বলা হয়েছে বিশ্বের অনেক দেশেই মোটরবাইকে দিনের বেলা হেডল্যাম্প জ্বালিয়ে চালানোর ফলে বাইক দুর্ঘটনার সংখ্যা চোখে পড়ার মতো হ্রাস পেয়েছে। বিশেষ করে ইউরোপে ২০০৩ থেকে AHO শুরু হয়েছে।
এছাড়াও দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে যাওয়ার পর বিশেষ কোনও অ্যালার্ম সাউন্ড সিস্টেম যদি বাইকে বসানো যায় সে বিষয়েও ভাবনা চিন্তা করছেন বিশেষজ্ঞরা।

Ramrajatala, a brief info | রামরাজাতলা সংক্ষিপ্ত ইতিহাস

            
Ramrajatala in Howrah is a famous place from very ancient time in history. The five century old city is such a place where history and folklore walks hand in hand. It is said that about 250years ago famous Zamindar of Santragachhi, Ayodhyaram Choudhury got some Divine instructions to worship King Rama. After which the Zamindar started a huge Barowari Puja of Lord Rama. That Puja got a massive popularly in the passage of time and the locality was named after it Ramrajatala.
But during that time Barowari Saraswati Puja was very famous and the villagers used to enjoy the same a lot. So some villagers those were the fond of the Saraswati Puja opposed the RamRaja Puja. The two groups came to a conclusion after numerous discussions that RamRaja Puja would be done with pomp and glory provided the structural commencement of RamRaja Puja would take place on Saraswati Puja, and The Goddess of Wisdom Saraswati would be placed on the top of Lord RamRaja & Sita. From then till today it has become customary to cut the bamboo from the bamboo groove of Sasthitala and perform the very first Puja of those bamboos at Choudhury Para Shib Mandir on the day of Saraswati Puja. After some days the relatives of Gour Pal (from Kumartuli) start preparing the deities at AatChala of Ramrajatala Bazar.
During the initial days the Puja and Melanie would have held for three days. After that it continued for a fortnight and then up to a month. Now a days the RamRaja Puja starts on RamNavami in Chaitra or Baisakh (Bengali Month) and continues up to the last Sunday of Shraban month. The Puja and the Mela continues for these four months. Perhaps it is the longest and only Indian Mela of it's kind. The previous glamor like Yatra on every Sunday & Saturday night are not happened now. But daily Puja, Aarti, Bhog Nivedan are observed till date.
Other than Lord Ram and Sita in their courtroom attire one will find Laxman, Bharat, Shatrughana, Bibhisana, Hanuman & Jambuban. The deities of Lord Siva along with his followers Nandi & Bhringi , Lord Brahma, five Pratimas of Saraswati, Jagaddhatri are also watch worthy. Separate temple for Mahavir Hanuman, Savitri Satyaban and Bamana Avatar of Lord Vishnu surrounds the Mandir Complex.
In this connection it is notable to pay a visit to SoumyaChandi(at Ichhapur), Natun Nabanari & Puratan Nabanari (at Baksara) when one is coming to Ramrajatala. The Puja of SoumyaChandi starts two days before RamNavami. The Natun and Puratan Nabanari Puja commences on Akshay Tritiya and Buddha Purnima respectively.

হাওড়া জেলার সাঁতরাগাছি অঞ্চলের রাম পুজোর পরিচিতি খুব প্রাচীনকাল থেকেই। আজ থেকে প্রায় ২৫০ বছর আগে সাঁতরাগাছি-র প্রখ্যাত জমিদার অযোধ্যারাম চৌধুরী রাজবেশধারী রাম-সীতার পুজো প্রবর্তন করার কিছুদিন পর থেকেই রামমন্দির সন্নিহিত এলাকা রামরাজাতলা নামে পরিচিতি লাভ করে ।
                 কথিত আছে রামভক্ত অযোধ্যারাম চৌধুরী স্বপ্নাদেশে শ্রী রামচন্দ্রের পুজো করার নির্দেশ পান । সেই স্বপ্নাদেশের রূপায়নে তিনি উদ্যোগী হন বিশালাকারে এবং বারোয়ারি পুজোর আদলে রামসীতার পূজার্চনা করতে । কিন্তু সেই সময় এই এলাকায় বারোয়ারি সরস্বতী পুজোর খুব খ্যাতি ছিলো এবং আপামর গ্রামবাসী এই পুজোয় মেতে উঠতো ; ফলে একদল গ্রামবাসী বারোয়ারি রাম পুজোর বিরোধীতা করলেন । দুদলের ধারাবাহিক আলোচনায় শেষমেষ এই সিদ্ধান্ত হলো যে , রামসীতার পুজোই বড় করে হবে, কিন্তু সরস্বতী পুজোর দিন প্রতিমা নির্মাণের সূচনা হবে বাঁশ কাটা এবং প্রারম্ভিক পুজোর মধ্য দিয়ে । আর রামসীতার মূর্তির উপরের দিকে অবস্থান করবেন দেবী সরস্বতী ।
           সেই থেকেই এখনও অবধি সরস্বতী পুজোর দিন ষষ্ঠীতলার নির্দিষ্ট বাঁশঝাড় থেকে বাঁশ কাটার পরে চৌধুরীপাড়ায় শিবমন্দিরে বাঁশ পুজোর মাধ্যমে রামসীতার মূর্তি গড়ার প্রাথমিক প্রস্তুতি শুরু হয় । এর অল্প কিছুদিন পর থেকেই রামরাজাতলা বাজারের আটচালায় কুমারটুলির প্রতিমা শিল্পী গৌর পালের বংশধর-রা প্রতিমা নির্মাণ শুরু করে দেন ।
             আড়াইশো বছরেরও বেশী প্রাচীন এই পুজো প্রথমে তিনদিন ,তারপর পনের দিন , আরও পরে একমাস ধরে চলতো । বর্তমানে চৈত্র বা বৈশাখ মাসে রামনবমী তিথিতে শুরু হয়ে শ্রাবণ মাসের শেষ রবিবার পর্যন্ত রাম পুজো ও সেই উপলক্ষ্যে অনুষ্ঠিত মেলা চলতে থাকে । আগে এই পুজো চলাকালীন প্রতি শনি ও রবিবার যাত্রাপালার আসর বসতো ! সেসব এখন আর হয়না ঠিকই ,তবে প্রতিদিন পুজো ,ভোগ নিবেদন ,সন্ধ্যারতি ইত্যাদি চালু আছে । 
          রাবণবধের পরে সপারিষদ রাজা রাম ও সীতার মূর্তি এখানে পূজিত হয় । সঙ্গে আছেন মহাদেব ,ব্রম্ভ্রাসহ মোট ২৬ টি প্রতিমা । অবশ্যই রামসীতার মাথার উপরের দিকে অবস্থান করছেন পাঁচটি সরস্বতী প্রতিমা । এছাড়া আছেন দেবী জগদ্ধাত্রী-র দুটি মূর্তি,এক্কেবারে উপরে বসুদেব, রামের দুইপাশে লক্ষণ ,ভরত ,শত্রুঘ্ন ,বিভীষণ ,হনুমান ,জাম্বুবান ,শিবের অনুচর নন্দী-ভৃঙ্গি ইত্যাদি ।
    পাশে আলাদা ভাবে আছে মহাবীর হনুমানের মূর্তি ; সাবিত্রী-সত্যবান এবং বিষ্ণুর বামন অবতারের মূর্তির আলাদা মন্দিরকক্ষ ।
       রামরাজাতলার কাছেই ইছাপুরে পূজিত হন সৌম্যচন্ডী, বাকসাড়ায় নতুন ও পুরাতন নবনারী । রামনবমীর দুদিন আগে সপ্তমীর দিন পুজো শুরু হয় সৌম্যচন্ডীর, অক্ষয় তৃতীয়া ও বুদ্ধপূর্ণিমাতে নতুন ও পুরাতন নবনারীর পুজোর সূচনা হয় । তবে কেবল রামরাজাতলাতেই চারমাস ব্যাপী মেলা চলে , যা ভারতের দীর্ঘতম মেলা । আগস্ট মাসের ২য় বা ৩য় রবিবার (শ্রাবণ মাসের শেষ রবিবার) বিশাল শোভাযাত্রা সহকারে চারটি বিশালকায় প্রতিমার বিসর্জন হয় , যা "রামবিজয়া" নামে পরিচিত ।

"আপনি চাঁদকে দেখেছেন? " প্রশ্নটা ওঁরা করতেই পারতেন। যদি ওঁরা আসাননগরের খোঁজে বাউল হতেন। একশো সুতোর ঠাস বুনোটে নিটোল নক্সা জ্যাকার্ড তাঁত মেশিনে তুলে আপনার চোখে ধাঁধা লাগিয়ে দিতেও পারতেন ওঁরা। যদি বয়ন শিল্পী হতেন। আর রসিক হলে খেজুর গাছে হাঁড়ি বেঁধে ভোর রাতে রস নামিয়ে তাতে খড়ের জ্বাল দিয়ে মন কাড়া নলেন গুড় বানিয়ে রসনা সরস করতে পারতেন। কিংবা সুরের নেশায় বেহালার ৬টা তারে ছড়ের টানে সিম্ফনিতে মাতিয়ে রাখতে পারতেন তামাম অপেরা হাউসের শ্রোতাদের। কিন্তু ওঁরা এসব কিছুই করেননি। সবুজ মাঠে সজীব, সুন্দর, আনকোরা কিছু শৈশবকে ওঁরা নিজেদের মত করে গড়ে তুলেছেন। কিছু পাওয়ার প্রত্যাশা ছাড়াই কর্তব্য পালনের মতন করে, নিজের সন্তান সময় মমত্বে, শাসনে, আদরে, শৃঙ্খলায়, আশকারায়- ওঁরা ফুটবলার তৈরি করেন। বাইট, কোট(quote), ডিঙ্কি লাইট বা ফ্ল্যাশগানের আলো থেকে আদতে কয়েক আলোকবর্ষ দূরে থাকতেই ওঁরা স্বচ্ছন্দ। ওদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ চাকরি করেন, বাকিরা ফুলটাইম ফুটবলে। যাঁরা চাকরি করেন তাঁরা অফিসের সময়টা বাদে সকাল বিকেল ঘাসের সবুজে প্রতিভার অন্বেষণ আর তার লালন পালনেই নিয়োজিত এবং নিমজ্জিত। অনেকের মাস মাইনের সিংহভাগটাই চলে যায় ছাত্রদের টিফিন, বল, বুট, হোর্স, জার্সি প্যান্টের খরচায়। তবু ওঁদের আক্ষেপ নেই, মনের গভীরে না পাওয়ার বেদনা থাকলেও তা মুখ ফুটে বলার বাসনা নেই। ছাত্রদের সাফল্যেই পরম প্রাপ্তি, আর আছে মন ভারী হয়ে আসা চোখের কনীনিকা জুড়ে গর্বের আনন্দাশ্রু। এঁদের মধ্যে অনেকেই এখন বয়সের ভারে প্রবীণ। অশক্ত হাড়ে অসুখ থাবা বসিয়েছে, তবু মাঠ আর ফুটবলের নাম করলেই পাঁজর ভরে যায় টাটকা বাতাসে। হুগলির চকবাজারে থাকেন ভোলা-দা। ভাল নাম শ্রী অশ্বিনী বরাট। সুরজিৎ সেনগুপ্ত, তন্ময় বোস, স্বরূপ দাস, অনীত ঘোষ, ফাল্গুনী দত্ত থেকে এখনকার বিশ্বজিৎ সাহা ওঁর হাতেই তৈরি। ২০১১ সালে এ হেন গুরুকে গুরুদক্ষিণা দিতে এগিয়ে আসে চন্দননগরের "আমাদের প্রয়াস" নামক একটি সংস্থা। তারা ভোলা-দার সন্মানে একটি বেনিফিট ম্যাচের প্রস্তাব নিয়ে প্রবীণ কোচের বাড়ি যান। কিন্তু শুরুতেই বিপত্তি। বেঁকে বসেন অশ্বিনী বরাট। জীবনে ফুটবল থেকে একটা পয়সাও রোজগার করেন নি। শেষ বয়সে আবার টাকাকড়ি কেন? বিপাকে আয়োজকরা। শেষমেশ উপায়ান্তর না দেখে উপায় বাতলান স্বয়ং ভোলা-দা, "আমার বয়স হয়েছে, ফুটবলকে আমার দেওয়ার কিছু নেই আর, তোমরা বরং টাকাপয়সা যা দেবার, চঞ্চল মজুমদারকে দাও"। চঞ্চল মজুমদার চন্দননগরের নবীন কোচ, সেই সময় তাঁর দুটো কিডনিই বিকল, চিকিৎসার জন্য চাই অর্থ। যেমন ভাবনা তেমন কাজ। হল অশ্বিনী বরাটের বেনিফিট ম্যাচ। চিকিৎসার জন্য ৫০ হাজার টাকা পেলেন চঞ্চল। ক্যান্সার আক্রান্ত ক্রিকেটার অচিন্ত্য মান্নার পাশেও সংগঠকরা দাঁড়ালেন ১০ হাজার টাকা নিয়ে। সারা জীবন শুধু ফুটবলকে ভালবেসে মাঠের নেশায় বুঁদ যিনি তিনিই তো পারেন এমনটা করতে।

অভিসারে ছাদে তবে যাই

সং-রং ধুয়ে যাক

My write up on Hilsha in Hyangla Henshel

ইলিশ বিলাস বাঙালির চিরকালীন ঐতিহ্য। সেই ইলিশ নিয়ে হ্যাংলা হেঁসেল এর পাতায় হয়ে গেল গঙ্গা-পদ্মা ঘটি-বাঙাল এর ঠোকাঠুকি হাতায় হাতায়, কলমে কলমে। একবার পদ্মা বলে আমায় দেখ তো একবার গঙ্গা বলে আমায় দেখ। তাবড় তাবড় বিশেষজ্ঞ, সেফ, লিখিয়েদের সঙ্গে হংস মধ্যে বক যথা আমি। দু'কলম লিখলাম ডেনমার্ক যেতে যেতে দুবাই এয়ারপোর্ট এ বসে। পড়ে দেখো/দেখিস/দেখুন সবাই।

সেদিন ফেসবুকে কিছু ছবি দেখছিলাম এক বন্ধুর বন্ধু তুলেছেন দীঘা মোহনার, ভুল করলাম কোনও ফুল ভেবে। যেন রূপোলী শতদল। ছবিটা জুম করে দেখলাম যত্ন করে সাজানো ইলিশ। চকচক করছে। দীঘায় পর্যটকরা এই সময় তাজা ইলিশের আকর্ষণে এই সময় পাড়ি জমান। দীঘা, শঙ্করপুর মৎস্য বন্দর, মন্দারমণী র নিকটবর্তী অঞ্চলে এবার ইলিশের আহরণ বেশ ভাল। ভাল ইলিশের জোগানে তাই মাছের বাজারেও বেশ একটা চাঙ্গা ভাব। সাধারণত ইলিশ পূর্ণিমা র আগের সাতদিন থেকে পূর্ণিমার দিন ও তার পরের সাতদিন পর্যন্ত মোট পনেরো দিন ধরে কম বেশি ডিম পাড়ে। স্ত্রী ইলিশ ডিম পাড়ার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে পুরুষ ইলিশ সেই ডিম কে নিষিক্ত করে। ডিম ফুটে দু দিনের মধ্যে রেণু ইলিশ তৈরি হয়। কিছু দিনের মধ্যে এই রেণু ইলিশ পোনায় রুপান্তরিত হয়। পোনা ইলিশ একটু বড় হলে তাকে বলা হয় জাতক ইলিশ বা জাটকা ইলিশ। ইলিশের ডিম পাড়ার জলের লবনাক্ততার ওপর নির্ভর করে ইলিশের গুণগত মান। ইলিশ সাধারণত আধা মিঠা আধা নোনা জলের মিশ্রিত পরিবেশকে ডিম পাড়ার আদর্শ স্থান হিসেবে বেছে নেয়। ভারত, বাংলাদেশ ও মায়ানমার গোটা বিশ্বের ইলিশ উৎপাদনের অধিকাংশ যোগান দেয়। আজকের হ্যাংলার পাতায় হাতের কাছে ইলিশের প্রাপ্তিস্থানের হদিস দিতে গিয়ে একটা ছোট্ট অনুরোধ রাখছি। দয়া করে কম দামের লোভে পড়ে নয় ইঞ্চির কম ইলিশ কেনা থেকে বিরত থাকুন। নয় ইঞ্চির কম জাতক ইলিশ ইলিশ ধরা ও তার ক্রয় বিক্রয় আইনত নিষিদ্ধ। হ্যাংলার ইউটিউব চ্যানেলে যে ভিডিও আপনারা দেখেন তার শ্যুটিং এ আমি আর সুমিত ক্যামেরা নিয়ে ঘুরছিলাম। এক বৃষ্টি ঝিরঝির দিনে ডায়মন্ডহারবার লোকাল ধরে দুপুর দুপুর ডায়মন্ডহারবার পৌঁছলাম। মৎস্য দফতরের জেটিতে তখন ভিড় করেছে এম ভি সাবিত্রী, জয় মা তারা, মা যোগমায়া, জয় মা তারিণী, এম ভি জাহ্নবী, এম ভি নাড়ুগোপাল, মা প্রিয়া, বাবা শম্ভুনাথরা। হরেক ট্রলারের উজ্জ্বল রঙ চোখে ধাঁধা লাগিয়ে দিচ্ছে। হাওয়ায় ডানা মেলে উড়ছে শঙ্খচিল। ইলিশ নামানোর পর তখন 'বরফ লোডিং' হচ্ছে ট্রলারে। জাল শুকিয়ে ছেঁড়া জাল মেরামতিও চলছে। এরই মাঝে এম ভি শম্ভুনাথের কাছে যেতেই বোঁটকা আঁশটে গন্ধ নাকে এল। খবর নিয়ে জানলাম শেষ যাত্রায় প্রায় পাঁচশো মণ ইলিশ জালে পড়েছে শম্ভুনাথের ; কিন্তু বরফের জোগান অত মাছ সংরক্ষণের জন্য পর্যাপ্ত না থাকায় প্রচুর মাছ পচে গেছে। শহুরে বাঙালি মনে ইলিশ পচানো (!?) বিষয়টা ভাল ভাবে নেওয়া গেল না। একটা কালচারাল শক লাগল। বলে কি? এরা? সাত পাঁচ ভাবছি হঠাৎ দেখি সাদা শাড়ি পরা এক বৃদ্ধা ওই নদীর জলে ভাসতে থাকা আধপচা বাতিল ইলিশ গুলো কুড়োচ্ছে। ক্যামেরাকে পেশা করে অনেক ছবিই করতে বাধ্য হই আমরা। কিন্তু এ কোন ছবি? ডায়মন্ডহারবার ব্লকে প্রায় শতাধিক ট্রলার আছে। অখিল প্রামাণিকের ট্রলার চোদ্দজনকে নিয়ে ইলিশ ধরার জন্য ভেসে পড়ার আগে মজুত করে পনেরোশ লিটার ডিজেল, সত্তর পঁচাত্তর ব্লক বরফ,দুশো কিলো চাল। এছাড়াও ডাল,আলু,পেঁয়াজ,সরষের তেল,মশলাপাতি,চা,চিনি মিলিয়ে প্রায় দশ হাজার টাকার সামগ্রী। জটাধর বর, সঞ্জয় প্রামাণিক, শেখ আবু শফি,নীলোৎপল মন্ডল,গরাই মিদ্দা,প্রসেনজিৎ কবিররা বছরের অন্য সময় চাষবাস, হাতের কাজ, কাঠের কাজ করেন বা দিনমজুর খাটেন। কিন্তু বছরের এই সময় জুন থেকে সেপ্টেম্বর ভেসে পড়েন রুপোলি ফসলের আশায়। নোনা হাওয়ায় করকর করে চোখের কোন। খর নুন চোখের সাদা অংশ আরক্ত হয়ে ওঠে।

A cup of tea @Rs,1

I have came to Kerala as a camera crew member of Neo Prime to cover the Nagjee International Club Football Tournament. Nagjee Cup a age old popular football tournament of India has restarted after 21years. During our stay we have almost little or no time to roam around Kozhikode. Yet during the morning walk I have captured some moments here are those for your eyes.
The clean streets, cleaner sea beaches & yummy food platter of calicut will surely put your soul to a elevated level. You would ask your conscience THIS IS GOD'S OWN COUNTRY! IS IN'T IT. Common people here merely knows hindi or English very fluently but language is not at all a problem. There generosity, warmth and smiley face would certainly solve all the problems regarding language barrier. After my morning walk I halted for a cup of tea in a roadside thatched tea stall. Ordered a glass of Raw Tea (tea without milk) and a Murukku (local snacks). After finishing my morning tea I asked the shopkeeper "How much to pay?" He raised his ring finger, middle finger & index finger. I gave him INR 30. He started talking something in Malayalam which was something like Greek & Roman to me. A local group of young people were also having morning breakfast in the same shop. Looking me in a helpless situation they came forward and said Bhaiya teen rupiah de do, teesh kiun de rahe ho? Unke pass chutta nehi hai. ( Why are you giving INR 30.00 he don't have a change the price is INR 3.00
I WAS SHOCKED!! Asked WHY? Bashir Bhai, the shopkeeper explained, (with the help of my co-eater young interpreter which I understood) "look price of tea is one rupee and the Murukku costs two rupees, so total bill is three rupees".  Being a Kolkatan and a bengali I was used to with the roadside 5 to 10 rupees tea habit. I have been to Oxford Cha Bar(Park Street) , Dolly's Tea(Dakshinapan) ,  Punjabi Dhaba (near SSKM Hospital) and T3 The Tea Table in Kolkata ; had Gurguri Chai (Tea of Laddakh tea made of butter & salt) loosen wallet a lot for my paranoia for tea. But Bashir Bhai's liquor tea was surely a Brain Jerker for me. Flavor of the tea was no less in standard than any Kolkata roadside tea stall (yet better). Cleanliness of the utensils will have no hygiene risks,  yet the price is so much in reach that even the homeless, the destitutes and the vagabonds will also afford to have a prestigious breakfast here. পাগলের পুজো

পাগলের পুজো
ষষ্ঠী র সকাল বাজার করতে বেরিয়ে মুদির দোকানে ফর্দ জমা দিয়ে মোড়ের
চা দোকানে প্রভাতী সিগারেট সহ এক কাপ চায়ে চুমুক দিচ্ছি, একদল ছেলেমেয়ে
হুহু করে দৌড়ে গিয়ে অপেক্ষমান বাসে উঠল। পুজোর সকাল ঝলমল করে উঠল।
"মরবে মরবে সব মরবে" ঘাড় ঘুরিয়ে দেখি পাড়ার পরিচিত এক পাগল বিড়বিড় করছে।
"মরবে মরবে সব মরবে "
চা দোকানি গলা ঝাঁঝিয়ে বলল সকাল সকাল বাজে বকা শুরু করলি? চুপচাপ চা খেয়ে
কেটে পড়। সকালের কাগজ অাটখানা হয়ে হাতে হাতে ঘুরছে। পুজোর উপচে পড়া জনস্রোতের
ছবি আর সুদৃশ্য প্রতিমার ছবির মাঝে খচখচ করছে দক্ষিণ কলকাতার এক প্যাণ্ডেলে পুজো বন্ধ
হয়ে যাওয়ার ঘটনা । অত্যুৎসাহী এক চা খোর বলল শুধু হুডোহুড়ি?  দু একজন মারাও  গেছে শুনছি!
পাগল আবার বলল "মরবে মরবে সব মরবে"
আমি মজা পেয়ে গেলাম, পাগলের সাথে আলাপ জমানো শুরু করলাম । জিজ্ঞেস করলাম কে মরবে? কেন মরবে? ও বলা শুরু করল "সব মরবে, আমার গা জ্বালা করে" এর মধ্যে চা এল। দোকানদার কে বললাম পাগলা টা কে বিস্কুট দিতে। চায়ে ডুবিয়ে বিস্কুট খেতে খেতে পাগল বলল Thank you আবার জিজ্ঞেস
করলাম বল কে মরবে, "আগে এই সময় আমার ঠান্ডা ঠান্ডা আরাম লাগত, এখন গা পুড়ে যায় সব সময়, তোরা তো খালি আকাশের দিকে তাক করে বাড়ি বানাচ্ছিস, হৈ হৈ করে। আমার কথা ভাবিস?আমার বড্ড গরম লাগে গা জ্বালা করে ।"
আমি বললাম গরমই যদি লাগে তো কম্বল গায়ে দাও কেন? ও বলল "পাগল কোথাকার কম্বল গায়ে দিলে কত আরাম জানিস মুড়ি দিয়ে নিলেই ঠান্ডা আহ্"
চা শেষ করে পাগল আবার বকবক করা শুরু করল "আমাকে পাগল বলিস , জানিস তোরা কত বড় পাগল? এই যে প্যান্ডেলে প্যান্ডেলে হন্যে হয় ঠাকুর দেখিস আর টপাটপ ছবি তুলিস কি পাস তোরা? জানিস মাইকের গাঁক গাঁক আওয়াজে আমাদের মত সাধারণ পাগলদের কত অসুবিধে হয়? এমনিতেই মাথার ভেতর কত আওয়াজ! প্লাস্টিকের ক্যারিব্যাগ উড়ে গেল, কল থেকে  ফোঁটা ফোঁটা জল পড়ল, ভোর রাতে হাওয়ার ভেতর রোজ একজন কাঁদে । শুনতে পাস? বুঝতে পারিস? বুঝবি না তোরা বুঝবি না। তোদের কান মোটা হয়ে গেছে । এই যে সকাল থেকে রাত ছুটে বেড়াস, কী পাস তোরা এত দৌড়ে?
আস্তে আস্তে ভিড় পাতলা হল চায়ের দোকানে । পাগল ও নিজের কাজে মন দিল। একটা পুরোনো খবরের কাগজে পেন দিয়ে হিজিবিজি লিখতে লাগল।অন্য দিন লোকটা হাত নেড়ে ট্র্যাফিক কন্ট্রোল করে, আজ লিখছে দেখে মজা করে জিজ্ঞেস করলাম কি লিখছ? পাগল বলল ওপারে ওরা দুঃশাসন আর এপারে আমি প্রশাসন, বুঝলি আমি প্রশাসন, তাই সব কিছু লিখে রাখছি, সব হিসাব, সব হিসসা, সব কিসসা, সব কিসু । মরবে মরবে সব মরবে । বললাম আবার শাপ দিচ্ছ। ও বলল দেবো না? জানিস তোরা নালির ধারে কাগজ জ্বালিয়ে ভাত রাঁধতে কেমন লাগে? কুকুরের মত ভ্যাট থেকে পচা খাবার খেতে কেমন লাগে? তোদের পুজো তে একবার ও মনে হয় আমাদের কথা? কখনও তোদের ইচ্ছে হয় আমাদের দুমুঠো খেতে দিতে? গু মুতের মত ভাবিস আমাদের, তাই না? আমাদের ভোট নেই, তাই আমরা ভাটের। চল আমরা গুয়ের মতই ফেলনা, আমার দরকার নেই তোদের, মর তোরা।
একা দাঁড়িয়ে রইলাম, সত্যি ই কি আমাদের বিপুল পরিমাণ বৈভব আর আনন্দের সাথে ওদের খুব সামান্য কিছু প্রয়োজন কে জুড়ে নিলে শারদোৎসব কি যথার্থই সর্বাঙ্গীন হত না?
উৎসব সর্বস্ব বিবেক নিয়ে হতভম্ব হয়ে রইলাম । সত্যিই কি উৎসব আমাদের সার্বজনীন?
(লেখাটি আসলে কল্পনা প্রসূত না হলেও, এটাকে কাল্পনিক অথবা পাগলের প্রলাপ ভেবে নিয়ে দেখুন, অদ্ভুত আরাম লাগবে । স্থান কাল পাত্র কারও সাথে মিল সম্পুর্ণ কাকতালীয় , কাউকে  বা কারও ধর্মীয় ভাবাবেগ এ আঘাত করা এ লেখার প্রাথমিক উদ্দেশ্য নয়)
